Visit of the Delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Korea
On September 24, within the framework of a working visit to the Republic of Korea, the delegation of Uzbekistan headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Olimjon Abdullayev held a meeting with the Vice Minister of Justice, Commissioner of the Korea Immigration Service, Kim Jong-do.
During the meeting, the parties discussed key areas of cooperation, including the social protection of Uzbek citizens, recognition of qualifications and development of vocational education, reduction of irregular migration, as well as combating human trafficking and crime.
As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached to resume the participation of citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the seasonal employment program (E-8) in the Republic of Korea. It was also decided to establish a working group to hold regular videoconferences aimed at countering irregular migration, ensuring proper conditions for labor migrants, and maintaining an ongoing dialogue to further strengthen the partnership.
