On July 1, 2024, UN Secretary-General António Guterres visited RiverSide solar photovoltaic plant located in Tashkent region and got acquainted with the changes in the field of green energy being implemented in Uzbekistan, the results and future plans.  Secretary-General applauded the efforts of Uzbekistan’s Government towards achieving UN SDG7 aimed at ensuring citizens' access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy.
