On December 3, 2024, the regular meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) member states was held in Mashhad.

The delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Babur Usmanov.

The heads of the delegations discussed preparations for the next meeting of the ECO Council of Heads of State in Azerbaijan in 2025 and exchanged views on strengthening cooperation within the Organization.

Following the meeting, the participants adopted the Mashhad Communique.

From January 1, 2025, the ECO chairmanship will pass from Iran to Kazakhstan for one year.
