The delegation of Uzbekistan visited China

 On April 26-27, 2023, a delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan headed by Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov visited Xi'an, People's Republic of China, to participate in the fourth meeting of foreign ministers in the "Central Asia - China" format and hold negotiations with officials of the Government of the PRC and representatives of the business community.

During the ministerial meeting "Central Asia - China", the delegations exchanged views on new opportunities for intensifying interaction between the countries of our region and China in the areas of politics and diplomacy, interconnectedness, trade, transport, green energy, culture and art. They paid particular attention to the organizational and substantive aspects of the Central Asia - China summit scheduled for May this year. The parties also discussed the situation in Afghanistan and other issues related to ensuring stability and security in the region.

During the visit, the head of the Uzbekistan delegation held talks with a State Councilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China Qin Gang. Foreign ministers discussed the progress of the implementation of the agreements reached at the highest level, the prospects for further strengthening the Uzbekistan - China comprehensive strategic partnership, the international and regional agenda.

At a meeting with the Secretary of the Party Committee of the Chinese Communist Party of Shaanxi Province Zhao Yide, promising areas of Uzbek-Chinese interregional cooperation were considered.

During his stay in Xi'an, the head of the Uzbekistan delegation held talks with the leaders of the leading Chinese companies BYD and LONGi to discuss the implementation of joint investment projects in our country.

In addition, the delegations of the Central Asian countries also got acquainted with the activities of the International China-European Center "China Railway Express" in Xi'an, where a ceremony was held to send a special train with BYD cars to Central Asia.
