On November 26, 2024, the delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan headed by the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhromjon Aloev took part in the 10th Forum of the UN Alliance of Civilizations, which was held in the city of Cascais (Portugal).

The event discussed regional and global issues, as well as the main directions of the UN Alliance of Civilizations in the near and long term.

In his speech, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized that Uzbekistan pays special attention to the activities of the Alliance of Civilizations, which plays an important role in the implementation of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The successful holding of a special event entitled "Promoting intercultural and intercivilizational dialogue to accelerate the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals" organized by Uzbekistan jointly with the Alliance of Civilizations in September of this year on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly was noted. It was also emphasized that next year Uzbekistan will become a platform for two major international events - the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference and the 150th anniversary Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union. These events will provide a unique opportunity to promote the ideas of cultural diversity and dialogue between civilizations and cultures.
