President of Uzbekistan receives a delegation of Turkey
On March 9, 2021, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation of the Republic of Turkey led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.
The current issues of the development of multifaceted relations were discussed at the meeting.
The President of Uzbekistan noted with satisfaction that regular contacts at the highest level contribute to further strengthening friendship and strategic partnership, enhancing mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries and filling it with concrete content.
Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu expressed deep gratitude to the leader of Uzbekistan for the welcome and conveyed warm greetings and sincere wishes of the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Special attention was paid to the practical implementation of the agreements of the first meeting of the Strategic Cooperation Council at the level of heads of state, held in Ankara in February last year, as well as the preparation of the next summit in Uzbekistan.
The importance of building up cooperation in the trade-economic sphere, in particular the preparation and implementation of new investment projects in Uzbekistan with the participation of leading Turkish companies, was emphasized.
A mutual interest in developing an active interregional dialogue, promoting joint educational, cultural and humanitarian programs was noted.
Views were exchanged on the issues of international politics and regional partnership, including within the framework of the ECO and the Turkic Council.
