On Uzbek-Slovak political consultations

 

On January 14, 2025, the 5th round of Uzbek-Slovak political consultations was held in Tashkent. The delegation of Slovakia was headed by State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovakia Marek Eshtok and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Muzaffar Madrakhimov.

During the consultations, the parties discussed current issues and prospects for intensifying and expanding multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Slovakia. Particular attention was paid to the trade, economic and investment sphere, cultural and humanitarian ties, as well as the interactions within international organizations.

The parties noted the importance of further strengthening the political dialogue between the two countries, including at the highest level.

An exchange of views on current international and regional issues also took place. As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached on jointly elaborating the exchange of visits at various levels, and expanding the legal framework of bilateral relations.

An agreement was reached on holding the next round of political consultations in 2026 in Bratislava.
