On Uzbek-Latvian political consultations
On December 3, 2024, the next round of Uzbek-Latvian political consultations was held in Tashkent. The delegation of Latvia was headed by Deputy State Secretary - Political Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia Ivars Lasis.
During the consultations, the parties discussed current issues and prospects for intensifying and expanding multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Latvia.
Particular attention was paid to the trade, economic and investment sphere, labor migration, cultural and humanitarian ties, as well as the development of transport and logistics infrastructure. The interaction of the two countries in the international arena was also discussed.
As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached on jointly elaborating the exchange of visits at various levels, forming a modern legal framework for bilateral relations, events in the field of culture and education
An agreement was reached on holding the next round of political consultations in 2025 in Riga.
