On November 28, 2024, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Olimjon Abdullaev met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Uzbekistan Oleg Malginov.

During the meeting, the tasks facing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in streamlining external labor migration, ensuring the protection and rights of citizens of Uzbekistan abroad were discussed.

An exchange of views took place on the above issues and a number of constructive agreements were reached on joint measures for the organized recruitment of citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan to work in Russian enterprises. The Russian side confirmed its continuing interest in the organized sending of citizens of Uzbekistan to work in the Russian Federation.

An agreement was reached to create a working format of weekly bilateral meetings between responsible officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Migration Agency, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Embassy of the Russian Federation to discuss issues on streamlining migration flows.
