Meeting with UNICEF Representatives in Afghanistan and Uzbekistan
 
On October 10, 2025, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan, Mr. Ismatulla Irgashev, held a meeting with the Head of the UNICEF Office in Afghanistan, Mr. Tajuddin Oyvali, and the Head of the UNICEF Office in Uzbekistan, Ms. Rehina Castigio.
During the discussion, the parties reviewed key areas of cooperation and emphasized Uzbekistan’s important role in providing humanitarian and social assistance to the people of Afghanistan.
Mr. Oyvali highly appreciated the potential of the transport and logistics infrastructure established in Termez and expressed interest in expanding cooperation with Uzbekistan, particularly with the Termez Cargo Center, to facilitate the formation and delivery of humanitarian aid for the Afghan people.
The UNICEF representatives expressed their gratitude to the leadership of Uzbekistan for its continuous support of the organization’s activities and its consistent attention to the welfare of the people of neighboring Afghanistan.
