On May 7, 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Péter Szijjártó. The sides noted the increasing agenda of multifaceted strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Hungary. During the meeting, the parties discussed bilateral and multilateral cooperation, the ways to further boost ties in many directions.  

Ministers signed Memorandum of understanding between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of Hungary on cooperation in the development of renewable energy sources as well as Cooperation Program between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary for 2024-2026 years.
