On 23 February 2021, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Haneef Atmar, in Kabul.

Current issues of constructive cooperation, including interaction in politics, security, trade, investment and others were discussed at the meeting.

The Afghan side confirmed the country leadership's support for Uzbekistan's consistent efforts to promote the peace process in Afghanistan and its economic recovery.

The sides also exchanged views on other issues of international and regional agenda.

Afghan partners are invited to the high-level International Conference “Central and South Asia: Regional Connectivity. Challenges and Opportunities” to be held this year in Tashkent.
