Meeting with the Ambassador of Singapore to Uzbekistan
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Ilkhom Khaydarov met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Singapore to the Republic of Uzbekistan (with residence in Singapore) Zulkifli Baharudin.
Zulkifli Baharudin noted that the government and business circles of Singapore keep a close watch on the large-scale reforms in Uzbekistan, which contribute to improving the well-being of the country's population, strengthening the national economy and increasing its international authority. In this regard, the Singapore side is confidently looking at the prospects for developing cooperation with Uzbekistan.
It was emphasized that the mutual visits of the Presidents of Uzbekistan and Singapore in 2023 became a powerful catalyst for the intensification of bilateral cooperation.
The issues of implementing the agreements reached at the highest level were discussed. The parties expressed interest in further expanding the political dialogue, intensifying interaction between business circles, exchanging experience in the field of education, training and retraining of mid-level managers.
Particular attention was paid to boosting partnerships in trade and investment spheres, accelerating the launch of joint investment projects in agriculture, textile, food industry, stock markets and others.
An exchange of views also took place on deepening cultural and humanitarian ties, including the resumption of air traffic between the two countries, increasing tourist trips, and building up cooperation in the field of healthcare.
