On 12 July 2022, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Gayrat Fozilov met with Deputy Minister for Political Affairs of the Republic of Korea Yeo Seung Bae, in Uzbekistan.

The parties exchanged views on a wide range of bilateral agenda of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Korea, as well as regional and international issues.

The high dynamics of bilateral exchanges in the political, economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres were noted with satisfaction, which indicates mutual interest in the further promotion and full-scale expansion of the special strategic partnership between the two countries.

The main attention was paid to the comprehensive implementation of the agreements at the highest level reached following the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Republic of Korea in December 2021.

The schedule of the upcoming joint bilateral and multilateral events was discussed, including the celebration of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Korea, which is celebrated this year.
