On December 9, 2024, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov received the newly appointed Ambassador of New Zealand Mark Julian Trainor. 

During the meeting, it was emphasized that the Foreign Ministries of both countries should serve as the driving force behind the development and implementation of a comprehensive agenda for mutually beneficial cooperation. Parties focused on key areas such as sustainable agriculture, industrial development, the green economy, and fostering business-to-business partnerships.
