On June 27, 2024, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov held a meeting with Salim bin Mohammed Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism​ of Oman. The ministers noted that Uzbekistan and Oman share common cultural heritage, rich and centuries-old historical ties. At the meeting, the sides discussed tourism as one of the fastest growing and promising directions in both economies, knowledge sharing, implementing joint projects, promoting new destinations, attracting foreign visitors and other topics.
