On May 14, 2024, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov met with the United Nations Under-Secretary-General, Executive Director of UN Women Sima Sami Iskandar Bahous, who arrived in Uzbekistan to participate at the Asian Women's Forum being held in Samarkand. Minister expressed gratitude to Sima Sami Iskandar Bahous for her continued support of the reforms aimed at creating the best conditions for women and girls in our country. It was underscored that ensuring gender equality, promoting women empowerment, realization of their full potential in our society are among the top priorities of the Government of Uzbekistan towards achieving long-term prosperity.
