Education and capacity-building cooperation between Uzbekistan and YTB

On January 21, Munira Aminova, Adviser to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, met in Ankara with Abdulhadi Turus, President of the Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), to review ongoing cooperation and explore new initiatives.
The meeting highlighted the success of existing programs, including YTB scholarships. In 2025, 228 candidates from Uzbekistan were admitted to the scholarship programs, with 136 currently studying. Over 3,200 alumni have completed YTB-supported programs, and an alumni portal has been established for continued engagement.
Discussions also covered ongoing projects such as the “Cultural Turk” encyclopedia, Zangturon initiative, and training programs in jewelry craftsmanship and emergency medical services.
New initiatives were proposed, including programs in IT, cybersecurity, and specialized training for young diplomats and the pharmaceutical industry.
Both sides expressed commitment to further strengthening cooperation in education and capacity-building.
