Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Bakhromjon A'loyev presented information on the results of early voting abroad for the Referendum of the Republic of Uzbekistan

 

Dear media representatives, participants of the press conference, ladies and gentlemen!

In accordance with Article 31 of the Regulation on the procedure for the organizing of referendum precincts and referendum precinct commissions at the diplomatic and other representative missions of the Republic of Uzbekistan in foreign countries, the embassies and consulates of Uzbekistan abroad carried out early voting procedures for the referendum of the Republic of Uzbekistan on April 19-26 of this year. 

A total of 1003 early voting points were organized in 40 foreign countries with densely populated Uzbek citizens, including cities where our diplomatic missions are not located.

159,276 our citizens exercised their constitutional rights during the early voting process.

More than 500 meetings and briefings were organized by foreign missions with the participation of compatriots, foreign mass media and foreign officials.

In order to ensure the coverage of referendum processes abroad in the media, representatives of the National Broadcasting Corporation of Uzbekistan were sent to Russia (Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Vladivostok), the Republic of Korea, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey. 

At present, 55 referendum precincts have been organized in 39 countries where there are diplomatic missions and consular institutions of our country.

We inform you that the first of the referendum processes abroad started on April 30 at the diplomatic missions of our country in Japan and Korea at 04:00 Tashkent time, and the last one will end at 05:00 on May 1 at the missions in the United States of America.

Currently, the voting process has begun in the diplomatic missions of our country in the countries of the East and Asia, in particular, in Japan, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, in the cities of Vladivostok, Novosibirsk, and Yekaterinburg of the Russian Federation, as well as in neighboring countries of Uzbekistan.
