Acting Foreign Minister received the copies of credentials of the Ambassador of Slovakia

 

Today, Acting Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic Viktor Boretskiy.

During the meeting, there was a ceremony of presenting copies of the credentials of Ambassador Boretskiy.

Mr. Saidov congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment to a high and responsible post and wished him fruitful work and success in further strengthening Uzbek-Slovak relations.

Both parties confirmed their readiness to actively promote economic diplomacy. As emphasized, the current level of trade does not correspond to the existing economic opportunities and potential of the two countries. In this context, they underscored the need to hold a meeting of the Uzbek-Slovak Interdepartmental Commission on trade and economic cooperation.

Ambassador Boretskiy expressed the support of Bratislava in the process of Uzbekistan's accession to the World Trade Organization, as well as in accelerating the conclusion of the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between Uzbekistan and the European Union.

Also, the exchange of views on strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties took place during the meeting, as well as the practical aspects of holding joint events and high-level mutual visits in 2023.
