On 23 February 2021, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov was received by the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Ashraf Ghani, in Kabul.

The Minister conveyed the message of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Ashraf Ghani.

The state and prospects of multifaceted cooperation were discussed at the meeting.

The parties noted with satisfaction the current high level of cooperation and stressed their mutual commitment to further deepen close interaction in all areas of mutual interest.

On behalf of the fraternal people of Afghanistan, President Ashraf Ghani expressed sincere gratitude to President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev for his full support in ensuring peace and stability in Afghanistan and restoring the country's economy.

The importance of inter-Afghan political negotiations for the establishment of long-term peace and security in the country was noted.

Other issues on the bilateral agenda were also discussed during the talks.
