Uzbekistan, Qatar MFA delegations discuss collaboration issues

 

Qatar hosted the second round of political consultations between the ministries of foreign affairs of the two countries, in Doha.

The delegations were led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Furkat Sidikov and State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Qatar Soltan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi.

The State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Qatar highly appreciated the large-scale reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to improve the public administration system, modernize and liberalize the economy, create a favorable investment climate, and intensify international cooperation.

During the consultations, the state and prospects for the development of cooperation, as well as certain issues of an international and regional nature, were discussed in detail.

The proposals on strengthening the inter-parliamentary dialogue, building up the trade, economic and investment ties were considered. Particular attention was paid to the development of interaction in the cultural, humanitarian and tourism fields.

The head of Uzbekistan delegation invited the Qatari side to the International High-Level Conference “Central and South Asia: Regional Connectivity. Challenges and Opportunities” to be held this year in Tashkent.
