Uzbekistan and Belarus leaders discuss issues on the bilateral agenda

 

On October 13, on the sidelines of the CIS Summit in Bishkek, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.

Current issues on the bilateral agenda were discussed.

The leaders noted with satisfaction the dynamic development of multifaceted relations between Uzbekistan and Belarus. Indicators of mutual trade turnover are growing, and the implementation of cooperation projects in various sectors of the economy continues. Joint events in culture, cinematography, and sports are regularly held.

The heads of state emphasized the importance of taking coordinated measures to enhance trade, economic, and humanitarian cooperation, including organizing the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission, the Forum of Regions, and a meeting of rectors of leading universities of Uzbekistan and Belarus. Views were exchanged on interaction within the CIS and other international structures.

The schedule of the upcoming events was also considered.
