The Union of Journalists of Uzbekistan announces the International Contest for the 18th National Award “Oltin Qalam” (Golden Pencil)

 

Attention, Contest!

The Union of Journalists of Uzbekistan announces the International Contest for the 18th National Award “Oltin Qalam” (Golden Pencil).

 

Among the contest nominations, held in connection with the World Press Freedom Day on May 3, applications “For the best article by a foreign journalist about Uzbekistan” are open. 

 

The winners will be awarded with the following:

for first place – a diploma, an “Oltin Qalam” (Golden Pencil) statuette, and a cash prize in the amount of 200 times the essential calculated value approved in Uzbekistan;

for second place – an “Oltin Qalam” statuette and a cash prize of 175 times the basic calculated value approved in Uzbekistan.

 

Creative works are accepted in the following format:

  • copies of articles published in a newspaper or magazine (pdf format);
  • articles published in online publications (with links);
  • television and video materials lasting from 3 to 30 minutes (with annotation and summary of the content);
  • audio materials in the direction of “radio” lasting from 3 to 30 minutes (with an annotation and summary of the content).

In addition to creative work, you will need to submit:

  • brief information about the author and his professional activities (CV);
  • a copy of the document confirming the identity of the author;
  • phone number.

Creative works of foreign journalists will be accepted until April 10 through diplomatic missions of Uzbekistan abroad with the assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
