On February 19, 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov paid an official visit to Astana.
As part of the visit, the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of our country was received by the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. President of Kazakhstan expressed the readiness to continue supporting the initiatives of Uzbekistan in the name of the well-being and prosperity of the peoples in our region.
The delegation of the Foreign Ministry held separate negotiations with the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu.
As underscored, thanks to personal contacts, candid dialogue, and the strong political will of the Leaders, cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan has risen to a qualitatively new level.
The parties expressed their commitment to make all necessary efforts to further strengthen Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan relations of good neighborliness, strategic partnership, and alliance.
Particular attention was paid to the schedule of upcoming events at the highest and high levels, expanding the legal framework for cooperation, intensifying trade, economic and investment ties, implementing new joint industrial and infrastructure projects, strengthening interregional contacts and interaction within international organizations.
The heads of the Foreign Ministry signed the Protocol based on the outcomes of the consultations, which defines the priority areas of bilateral relations and specific targets for this year. In addition, the Regulations on the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as the decision on the establishment of the above-mentioned Council were initialed.
Following the negotiations, Foreign Ministers briefed the media about the meeting outcomes.
