Political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Uzbekistan and of India

 

On August 7, 2023, Tashkent hosted the next round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of India.

The delegations of the parties were led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhromjon Aloev and the Secretary (West) of the Ministry of External Affairs of India Sanjay Verma.

During the consultations, a constructive exchange of views took place on a wide range of issues on the Uzbekistan-India agenda, the implementation of the agreements reached at the highest level, and the prospects for expanding the legal framework of cooperation.

Particular attention is paid to the proposals for enhancing economic diplomacy, increasing mutual trade, and implementing joint investment projects, including in the field of industrial cooperation.

A schedule of upcoming contacts between the parliaments, governments, and regions of the two countries was also reviewed.

The delegations discussed the topical issues of international and regional policy, as well as the Uzbekistan-India dialogue within the framework of multilateral structures.
