On September 21, 2023, in New York City, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov attended the Preparatory Ministerial Meeting for the Summit of the Future and presented his vision of the Summit as well as its outcomes. As the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev underscored the Summit will serve to address the current challenges of international and regional development, increase the influence and effectiveness of the UN. Foreign Minister Saidov underlined that the top priorities of the event should be the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, solving ecological problems such as the Aral Sea catastrophe, and developing new approaches to resolving crisis situations.
