Meeting with Mongolian Deputy FM

 

On June 3, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Furkat Sidikov met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Batsumber Munkhjin as part of his working visit to Uzbekistan.

It was noted that following the results of the political consultations and negotiations successfully held this year, concrete measures were developed for the development of relations between Uzbekistan and Mongolia for 2022-2023.

At the meeting, attention was paid to the existence of a significant potential for increasing bilateral trade. In particular, the possibilities of increasing the export of agricultural, primarily fruit and vegetable products of Uzbekistan to the Mongolian market were discussed.

The prospects for further cooperation between Uzbekistan and Mongolia within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, as well as the participation of the Mongolian delegation in the meeting of the Council of Heads of the SCO Member States, which will be held in Samarkand in September 2022, were considered.

Following the negotiations, a Cooperation Program between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia for 2022-2023 and a Protocol of Understanding between the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Roads and Transport Development of Mongolia, were signed.

The Mongolian side also announced the introduction of a visa-free regime for Uzbekistan citizens for 30 days.
