Ismatulla Irgashev e-met with the European Union Special Envoy for Afghanistan
On December 12, 2023, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev held a virtual meeting the Special Envoy of the European Union for Afghanistan, Tomas Niklasson.
During the conversation, the sides discussed a wide range of issues of multilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and the EU, in particular in the field of strengthening regional security, including the current situation in Afghanistan.
The parties emphasized the importance of the leading role of the UN in the issue of Afghan settlement and coordination of international efforts.
The sides agreed that without developing a consolidated position of the world community regarding the new authorities of Afghanistan, it is impossible to resolve the acute social and humanitarian crisis, as well as contribute to the establishment of lasting peace and stability in the country.
