Foreign Ministries of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea held 16th round of political consultations in Tashkent

 

On March 25, 2024, Tashkent hosted the 16th round of political consultations between Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea

The delegations were headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bobur Usmanov and Deputy Minister for Political Affairs of the Republic of Korea Chung Byung-won.

The parties exchanged views on the broad agenda of Uzbekistan-South Korea relations and identified priority areas for the development of cooperation in the near future. Special attention was paid to the schedule of upcoming events at various levels and formats.

During the political consultations, both sides confirmed mutual interest in increasing bilateral trade indicators and implementing joint projects in such areas as infrastructure, logistics, transport, ICT, and renewable energy.

The agenda of the negotiations also included the issues of improving the legal framework of bilateral relations, deepening cooperation in the field of labor migration, strengthening interaction within international organizations, as well as addressing a number of international and regional aspects.
