On August 28, 2023, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov held a virtual meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran Hossein Amir-Abdollahian. Foreign Ministers discussed all aspects of Uzbekistan-Iran cooperation from politics to economic diplomacy. 

They also signed a Roadmap between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Iran that underlines key tasks on bilateral relations that parties have to accomplish together.
