On July 9, 2023, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov met with the Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Zhang Ming.

The parties discussed topical issues of the expanding agenda of the SCO.
 

The sides noted the growing economic importance of the organization, the importance of developing effective mechanisms for strengthening ties between member states and the full realization of the existing huge potential.
