Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Furkat Sidikov has met with the Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council (Parliament) of Qatar, Mohammed Al Sulaiti.

The parties discussed the state and prospects of enhancing cooperation.

Special attention was paid to the issues of establishing and strengthening relations between the legislative bodies of the two countries, including through holding joint events, organizing mutual visits regularly and exchanging experiences.

The importance of creating inter-parliamentary friendship groups was emphasized to improve the regulatory and legal framework for cooperation in the political, trade and economic, technical and financial, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres.

The parties also considered certain aspects of the interaction between Uzbekistan and Qatar within the framework of international structures, in particular, the UN and the OIC.
