On 2 June 2021, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov held a telephone conversation with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice President of the European Commission Josep Borrell.

The parties discussed prospects for the development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the European Union, as well as the upcoming events in the format of EU – CA and Uzbekistan – EU.

The sides exchanged views on the preparations for the High-Level International Conference “Central and South Asia: Regional Connectivity. Challenges and Opportunities” on July 15-16, 2021 in Tashkent. Mr. Josep Borrell noted the relevance of this forum in the context of the EU policy on strengthening the connectivity and regional policy of Uzbekistan in Central Asia.
